The branch was fortunate to be offered a site for its apiary by the National Trust at Knightshayes Court, Bolham, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 7RQ. Since 2014 we have run this site as a training apiary, providing beginners and improvers with the opportunity to handle bees. In years when honey is harvested from the apiary it is sold on the branch stand at local country fayres and shows.
To find out when branch activities are happening at the apiary see the Events Calendar.
If you would like to offer to help with the apiary in any way then please contact the branch secretary via the Contact Us form.
Parking at Knightshayes for branch members
Branch members are permitted to park in the National Trust volunteers car park at Knightshayes, providing they display the parking ticket emailed to all branch members by the secretary.
Instructions: Follow the main drive up the hill and past the main house on your right. Take the first right after the main house when the stables come in sight – (if you pass the stables, you’ve gone too far). When you see the stables ahead of you there is a right-hand uphill turn that almost immediately forks into 2 tracks. Take the left-hand track and you will end up in a gravelled carpark with a long wooden building in it. Park anywhere in there but please be mindful of not blocking any gateways or trackways.
